Maundy Thursday Service

A Maundy Thursday service is a Christian worship gathering held on the Thursday before Easter that commemorates the Last Supper of Jesus Christ with his disciples. It marks the beginning of the Paschal Triduum, the three-day period including Good Friday and Holy Saturday that leads to Easter Sunday.

The name “Maundy” comes from the Latin word mandatum, meaning “commandment,” referring to Jesus’ instruction in John 13:34 to “love one another” as he had loved them.
